First home buyers in NSW may be eligible for a stamp duty exemption /concession or payment of a grant.
First Home Owner Grant
First home owners may qualify to receive a grant of $10,000.00.
To qualify for the first home owners grant you must purchase a house, townhouse, apartment, unit or similar that is newly built, purchased off the plan or substantially renovated. Once purchased, you must occupy the home as your principal place of residence within 12 months of the construction or purchase of the home for a period of at least 12 continuous months.
Stamp Duty Concession and/or Exemption
To qualify for the stamp duty concession, you must be purchasing your first home in Australia which must be valued less than $1 million. Once purchased, you must occupy the home as your principal place of residence within 12 months of the construction or purchase of the home for a period of at least 12 continuous months.
